Hello Timebankers,

Here is a quick update on events and exchange opportunities. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have a request or offer not captured below. Hope you're having a pleasant December - please remember to stay warm and check on neighbours who might benefit from a call this holiday season.

Dates for the Diary:

Weds 11 Dec - 10 AM - Coffee Morning at St. Mary's Centre

Thurs 12 Dec  - Timebank's Christmas Luncheon- Bookings are closed and attendees have been emailed a reminder separately.

Weds 18 Dec - 10 AM   – Health Walk starting at St. Mary’s Centre. Rain or shine. All abilities welcome (and dogs, too!).

There will not be a coffee morning on the 4th Wednesday in December, which is December 25 (Christmas Day).

Non-Timebank affiliated event of interest: Weds 25 Dec - The Free Church with the aid of The Rotary Club, St Ives Volunteer Office and businesses in St Ives are providing lunch on Christmas Day. It is for people who would like some company and who live in St Ives and the surrounding villages. Numbers are limited so you need to put your name down by Thurs the 19th by calling either the St Ives Volunteer Offices (12:30 -3 pm M-Th, 01480 301462) or the Free church Office (9am-1pm M, W, F, 01480 468535).

Current exchange opportunities:

Offer: Cambridgeshire area Timebanks have been offered an opportunity for members to see a live theatre performance of a comedic interpretation of Aladdin in Ely at Alive Corn Exchange - if you're interested please let me know ASAP, including which date you'd like: 20, 23, 31 December or 2 or 3 January.

Administrative housekeeping request: If you participate in an ongoing member to member exchange that originated through the Timebank, please let me know. It's key to whether the Timebank's liability coverage extends to you, and also important for measuring our Timebank's activity. Thank you!

Request: As you conduct your Christmas shopping, please consider also donating to the local food bank. Our Shop is collecting donations for items bought there or elsewhere.

Request: Member needs assistance with painting two ceilings she can't reach (she does have a step ladder, extender pole, etc, but is on the shorter side). She will have everything moved out of the way and is not looking for a professional result (consistent with our Timebanking rules) - just would like some help making it a bit tidier.

Thank you for all you do!

12 November 2019Week of 11 Nov Updates

Hello Timebankers,

Hope all is well! I've just returned from across the pond. While I did send out updates during my absence, I'm aware that some of you didn't receive them due to our continuing email troubles. For the time being, we are going to reduce the frequency of our emails, and send them out bi-weekly, as Gmail seems happier with us the less we try to send. Weekly updates will still be posted to Facebook and our website, and urgent one off requests will also appear on those mediums.

And, thank you to all who contributed in one way or another to the hedgehog event! We had a delightful time with the kids, and Friends of Houghton Primary School sends a big thank you to all the Timebankers who attended or helped craft beforehand. We will continue to fold a few hedgehogs for them at our coffee morning this week.

02 October 2019Week of 30 Sept updates

**As we were not able to send out our weekly update via email, we are providing it here on the website. Stay tuned!**

Good afternoon all. Below are several dates and exchange opportunities. Special thanks to those who joined me for a good game of Scrabble yesterday! It was a close game and we even managed to avoid the rain. There’s room for more – if you were thinking about it, please come next time.

*also a special note- regarding emails - we are still experiencing some troubles with emails and kindly ask that you PLEASE whitelist this email address and encourage your friends to do the same; unfortunately when too many of our emails go to spam, we end up on the naughty list and can't send our weekly digests out, as was the case yesterday. If you have any questions about how to whitelist an email, please just reply and we will help you.

We endeavour to respect your time and not send many emails (usually just the one a week, and occasionally an extra if an emergent need pops up). In the future, we'll also publish the weekly digest on the website and Facebook page, so if you feel out of contact, please check there (and of course, call or email anytime!). We hope to get this resolved asap and thank you for your understanding and assistance *

Kind regards, Lane

Request: Leaflet delivery needed for Timebank materials to Timebank members during the week of Sept 30.  For those of you who have offered thus far, thank you, I have you on my list and will arrange with you to get the materials to you this week. Request: Calling all crafters, even the self proclaimed unskilled type! Timebankers are needed to help with a craft project for the primary school's Christmas Fayre. They are making hedgehog books, and if you can fold a piece of paper, you can do this. You can make these on your own for now, and later we will coordinate a crafting afternoon with the kids to make some together. Contact me for more details, to let me know your interest, and to get supplies.

Offer: A member has several nice quality jigsaw puzzles, and wonders if we might form a sharing scheme or have them available at coffee mornings. A very kind offer! I'm trying to gauge interest so we can decide the best way forward - if this appeals to you, please let me know.
